Bournemouth ace Benik Afobe rejoins Wolves on loan with view to a permanent deal this summer

BENIK AFOBE has rejoined Wolves on loan until the summer.

The Bournemouth striker left them two years ago in a move worth £10million.

But Afobe now returns to his former stomping ground and will seal a permanent deal if Wolves are promoted to the Premier League this season.

Afobe was a huge hit during his time in the Championship, netting 22 goals in 46 appearances.

His performances attracted interest from a number of top flight teams.

But it was Bournemouth who ended up paying a club-record fee for his services.

However, Afobe managed just four goals in 15 appearances during his first six months with the Cherries.

A full season in the 2016/17 campaign resulted in just six strikes from 31 league outings.

While Afobe failed to net once in the top flight this term despite making 17 appearances.

The DR Congo international will now be hoping to find his goalscoring boots in familiar territory, and knows the move is more than likely to be made permanent thanks to Wolves’ dominance at the top of the Championship table.
